Essay Competition

The CRC Essay competition is designed to connect students’ individual disciplines and studies to the themes and ideas presented during the academic year’s programming. Students are provided with the opportunity to put their ongoing coursework in conversation with CRC’s theme for the year.

Submissions are closed for the 2024-25 essay competition.

This year, we are pleased to offer a first place prize of $750 and a second place prize of $250.

Lee University students may submit an essay of 5-10 pages exploring our year’s theme of “American Identity” by April 17th. Applicants should be active participants in CRC programming and have attended at least one official CRC event during the 2024-25 academic year.

Application Requirements

  • Be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at Lee University

  • Have attended one or more CRC events during the 2024-25 academic year

  • Submit a 5-10 page paper by April 17th

Formatting Requirements

  • Papers should be written in Times New Roman, 12pt. font, and double spaced

  • When appropriate, please cite your sources

  • A cover page does not count toward the 5-10 pages of content
